Fast Coyote Powered Cobra

Guest Starring 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera S

Scott of Auburn, AL is the owner of this beautiful Mk4 Factory 5 Racing Roadster. Scott makes his living as a commercial airline pilot, and his Cobra has aviation-themed custom features that reflect his passion for flying. What is so impressive about the car is that this is Scott’s very first build. The Cobra does not only look amazing, this baby is fast!

Originally; we only planned on featuring Scott’s Cobra. Then we found out he had a special order 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera S on the way from Germany and then we decided to include it in the feature. The 911 Carrera S has a turbocharged 3.0L flat-six engine that makes 420hp. The car does 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds with a blistering top speed of 191 mph. It is rear wheel drive and features a 7-speed Porsche-doppelkupplung transmission. This Porsche is set up to dominate road courses with its rear wheel steering.

The Porsches interior is comfortable and well matched. The cockpit is loaded with state of the art performance technology that appears to be simple to operate. Some of the cars options include custom colored gauges, heated seats, heated steering wheel, lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, Porsche dynamic light system, voice control, and sport chrono etc.

The Porsche has 20” wheels with Michelin 245/35 size tires on the front and 305/30 tires on the rear.

The Cobra was painted by Whitby Motorcars out of Greensboro, NC. The color of the racing stripes is Atomic Orange while the rest of the body is Dark Labyrinth. An Opti Coat Pro Ceramic Coating has also been added to help with that immaculate shine. Pictures do not do this car justice, the paintwork has to be appreciated in person.

Scott installed a brand new Coyote 5.0 crate engine from Ford Performance. The engine cover matches the exact flow of the exterior colors and the custom work was done by JLT Performance. The engine came out of the box with 435hp and 400ft_lbs of torque. Now the engine is making more power than that because there are a few bolt-on performance parts and a tune. The power to weight ratio is so good that it definitely has a supercar feel!

Performance Modifications
  • Flowmaster Slimline mufflers
  • Lund Tune
  • Cold air intake
  • Tremec tko600 five-speed transmission
  • 3.55:1 rear gear

The undercarriage of the Cobra is spotless just like the rest of the car. The rear differential is a brand new piece from the 2015 Mustang GT.  The main reason for Scott choosing this rear end assembly is that of the Independent Rear Suspension.

The cockpit has all the items that come with the build kit along with some personalized additions from Scott. The Cobra emblem on the dash has been painted to match the two-tone colors of the car. The custom aviation toggle switch covers look cool on the dash. The joystick that is being used as the shifter came out of a T-38 Jet that Scott’s father flew.

The Cobra has 18″ wheels with Falken Azenis 245/35 tires on the front and 305/30 tires on the rear. The orange lettering on the side walls is a custom addition from Tire Stickers. The 5.0 Coyote Cobra emblems were designed on Billet Badges, and Scott’s car is currently 1 of 2 Cobras that are currently known for having them.

When Scott had his house built the garage was made with an exceptionally high ceiling for obvious reasons.

Chase Scene from the 1995 Bad Boys Film

The original Bad Boys movie starred Martin Lawrence and Will Smith. The movie has an intense chase scene with a Shelby Cobra and a Porsche 911. Scott’s rides reminded us so much of the movie, that we decided to stage the cars for a photo shoot and we made our version of the famous chase scene.
