The Infiniti Prototype 9 Concept is a modern day vintage racer.
Revealed at the Pebble Beach Auto Show in 2017 the car is powered by an electric motor and battery from the Nissan Motor Company.
Chairman and Global President Roland Krueger says the car came to be due to there proven skills in manufacturing, engineering, design, and advanced powertrains.
The Prototype 9 Concept Car was made from traditional materials Including body panels bent by hand and is finished in a bare sheet metal giving it a futuristic look thanks to the open wheel design and open cockpit.
It is no slouch when it comes to speed.
The electric motor produces 148 horsepower and 236 feet pounds of torque to the rear wheels, thru a single-speed transmission, the top speed is believed to be limited to 105.6 mph, and sprints from 0-to-62 mph in 5.5 seconds with a range of 20 minutes in heavy track use.
This is one of Infiniti’s first take on an all-electric concept car, as electric vehicles become more popular we suspect more to appear from the company.
